The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program offers many courses of special interest to data science. These include courses in Java programming, frontend development with JavaScript/TypeScript within the React framework, big data/Hadoop, cybersecurity, and blockchain technology.

An MSDS student can file an academic petition to include an MSIS course as an elective for the MSDS degree. Most petitions of this type are approved.
